Noodles and Motorcycles - Vietnam May 2010

I first went to Vietnam for a few days in March of 2007--beyond the fantastic food and the wonderful vibe of Saigon, there was this certain charm about Vietnam and stories about China Beach, Hue, Hoi An, Hanoi which made me want to return and explore the country further. There's nothing like traveling in a place where you have a friend, I had a great time with Sonja--eating Pho, hanging out in the Dalat in 24 degree weather, taking that Easy Rider from Dalat to Phang Ran and Cam Ranh. I absolutely loved seeing parts of the country on a motorcycle thanks to our "easy riders" Mr. Ocean 11 and Hue. I had originally wanted to stay at Crazy House but we got a tip from one of Sonja's friends. The rooms are really meant for touring and not spending the night in. There's no electric fan or airconditioning or TV. And the upkeep is minimal. The animals also look like they will come alive in the middle of the night to eat you.
